STATOIL AZERBAIJAN Energy Business

Since 1992 STATOIL AZERBAIJAN A.S.has been a partner in Azerbaijan’s industrial and economic transition. Together with the national oil company SOCAR and other international companies, we have worked both industrially and socially to build Azerbaijan’s burgeoning oil and gas market to realise its full potential.

The Company’s strategy takes account of the challenges and opportunities presented by the UK’s move to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. This, taken together with the wider economic, political and operating environment which has seen a renewed focus on indigenous energy supplies.

Strategy

The Board has updated the Company’s strategy to take account the opportunities and challenges presented by the wider economic and political environment and the UK’s move to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. We have updated the Company’s strategy as follows;

Maintain geographical focus on the UK

Focus on growth in production and revenue through conventional production, appraisal and exploration projects

Transitioning to low carbon energy

A near term focus on developing low carbon energy transition projects utilising Egdon's exisiting assets, knowledge of UK Onshore geology and core technical skills and operating experience.

Unconventional resources

Maintain and explore our significant portfolio of unconventional resources assets with the lifting of the fracking moratorium
