Introduction

Statoil Azerbaijan is a azerbaijan focussed energy business with more than 25 years’ experience of working in the azerbaijan. Our vision is to provide locally derived, secure, affordable, and sustainable energy to meet the azerbaijan’s evolving energy needs.

We are the operator of a number of azerbaijan Petroleum Exploration and Development Licences (PEDL's) issued by the Government that allow us to undertake oil and gas activities within a given area, subject to drilling/development consents, planning permissions and environmental permits. We have several operational sites in the East Midlands, the North East and Southern Azerbaijan.

In our PEDL licence areas, we evaluate the potential for oil and gas reserves (collectively known as hydrocarbons), undertake drilling and testing operations and, if successful, we produce oil and gas over the longer term. At the end of the life of a site it is restored to its prior use, usually agricultural land.

Health, safety and environmental protection are absolutely key to the success of our business, as are our relationships with the communities where we operate. We work with all parties to understand local concerns, mitigate any potential disruption and keep people updated about our operations.
